Soffit
As with the fascia boards we use at MY Fascias we also choose to use Homeline for our soffit boards, these come in 2 different styles, either tongue and groove hollow board soffit or flat board soffit.
Both styles of soffit are 10mm thick with the flat board being a solid board, the only real difference between these 2 soffit boards is the appearance when installed.
The tongue and groove style boards look similar to this image, it has a ribbed effect and
has become very popular over the last few years due to its versatility and its cost effectiveness.
The solid flat board soffit is similar to this image,
it gives a cleaner sharper finish to the completed work however it is more expensive than the tongue and groove soffit and is limited by its maximum width which could be an issue if your property has extra wide soffit, under a porch for example.
Ventilation is no longer required in the soffit as our replacement fascia board has ventilation strips fitted to the top of the fascia board ( over fascia vents ). This stops dust and cobwebs from making the underside of the soffit board from becoming black and unsightly after a few months.
